Job Description:
The Assistant Engineer must have skills and abilities to work with technical and practical concepts for the development of construction work and reports. Must have good assertive communication skills and technological skills for reporting project progress and assigning and monitoring tasks.
 
Part of the tasks of the Assistant Engineer are:
  • Planning support: Assist in the implementation of technical specifications for construction projects. Collaborate in the preparation of cost estimates, identification of materials and resources needed and inventory.
  • Project coordination: Support in the coordination and follow-up of the progress of the project, monitor that the established deadlines and quality standards are met. Communication with other team members, suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist in document management: Assist in the organization and management of technical and administrative documents related to the project, such as reports, permits, licenses, reports and other necessary documentation. Ensures documents are complete and up-to-date.
  • Supervision: Keep the work brigades focused and meeting the established expectations. Promote healthy and safe dynamics among workers. In charge of creating schedules and distributing tasks among teams.
  • Quality control: Collaborate in monitoring the quality of the works, perform inspections and tests on the construction site to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the established specifications and standards.
  • Construction Site Safety Coordination: Enforce safety policies and procedures on the construction site, ensuring that workplace safety standards are met and that workers wear proper protective equipment. Assist in the identification and evaluation of possible risks in the construction project and report them so that the pertinent action is taken.
  • Communication and relationship with stakeholders: Maintain appropriate and professional communications with different project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, contractors and local authorities, to manage requests, keep them informed about project progress and address any concerns or queries.
  • Other related tasks
 
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate or technical degree in engineering or related areas preferably.
  • Not having a baccalaureate requires experience working in a similar role.
  • Good assertive communication and supervisory skills.
  • Preferably, experience working in the field of construction.
  • Ability to draft documents.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google apps.

Compensation: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Transportation

  • In case you are assigned to work at a location more than 40 miles from your town of residence, additional compensation will apply to travel time.
  • A weekly transportation stipend may apply instead of the above at the Company's discretion.
